Embrace the Calm of Slow Stitching
Embark on a creative journey indulging in the calming nature of slow stitching with our Appliqué a Mini Wall Hanging Workshop. Guided by Lindsay Sutton of Henrietta Quilt Shop, this unique 2 hour class will have everything ready to place and hand stitch your chosen appliqué design.
Upon completion, you’ll have a 17.5” x 21.5” wool mini wall hanging. Finish it by adding a decorative blanket stitch to the edges for a polished, professional finish as well as sewing sleeves on the back for your hanging rod.
Instructor Bio: Lindsay’s mom was a textile major and she taught her how to sew. This skill, along with Lindsay’s love of drawing has led her to explore the intersection of art, craft and design as a lifelong practice. In 2015, Lindsay became a proud mother to her daughter, Henrietta. Two years later, Linday’s life took an unexpected turn when she received a breast cancer diagnosis.
As the anxiety and stress grew, she turned to art as therapy – reconnecting with textiles and finding peace in the practice of quilting and weaving. Since then, she has found happiness exploring the profound connection between creativity and healing. She’s inspired by the concept of the heirloom; objects that tie generations together, cherished keepsakes and the value and memories they share.
This class is beginner-friendly. All materials and supplies will be provided.
